Motion maps
Motion maps are very confusing. I still haven't totally grasped the whole thing yet. This is going to be pretty short because we haven't fully discussed the motion maps. When we ended class we were talking about the difference between displacement and distance. I hope we continue talking about this because I still don't understand the difference.

In class we had a white board disscussion about question #1(position and time graph) We had one problem with this graph: what was the slope? Some people said velocity others speed. We came to the conclusion that the slope was the rate at which the cyclist were traveling.
We also discussed Question #2(position and time graph). This one we didn't come into any problems. However there was one interesting question. How does the motion of the cyclist A in the new graph compare to that of A in the previous graph? We answered this by saying in the first graph cyclist A traveled away from the reference point. In the second graph, A traveled toward the reference point.
In conclusion, this class was very informative. This helped me further understand position and time graphs.
